WOW! THIS IS MIND-BLOWING! Okay, all this stuff about firstborns and their profound role in ancient societies is eye-opening, right? But this applies to Israel as a NATION as well! God called Israel his firstborn son, "And you will say to Pharaoh: This is what the Lord says: Israel is my firstborn son" (Genesis 4:22). Therefore, firstborn son status, rights, and responsibilities apply to the nation of Israel among their sibling nations. Imagine what that means! BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE. Jesus is also a firstborn son. Therefore, both Israel and Jesus share the unique status as a God-birthed firstborn son. WOW!

Jacob did not emerge first at birth, Esau did. 24 When her time came to give birth, there were indeed twins in her womb. 25 The first one came out red-looking, covered with hair like a fur coat, and they named him Esau. 26 After this, his brother came out grasping Esau’s heel with his hand. Jay the Truth Barista unpacks EVEN MORE about the biblical firstborn! In this podcast, Jay and Amazing Larry explore the "Birthright" and the "Blessing" and why it is so important for the firstborn elder son to have them. Most of us know how important firstborn children are to their parents, especially firstborn sons to their dads. They are the pioneers, the "guinea pigs" for the new parents, the dominant child that often pushes their siblings around because "they know best," right? This is nothing new. From the very beginning (see Genesis 1-2) firstborn status is critical for understanding ancient Israelite culture, God's sovereign choices, and Jesus' role in God's family as our "firstborn, elder brother." After this series, you will never see the role of the firstborn son the same way!

At last! The final episode which reveals and sums up the markers of God's prophetic End Times plan first revealed through Daniel and affirmed by Jesus. Jesus' End Times talk in Matthew 24 (also Mark 13 and Luke 21) touches on the simple and clear markers that signal the final countdown to His return. Two major markers have already occurred: 1) Israel becoming a nation in 1948 and 2) Jerusalem coming back under Jewish rule in 1967. A confirming sign is the repopulation of Israel's land as multitudes of Jews have returned home and are still returning. We are definitely in the prophetic "pipeline!"
