Last night’s SmackDown gave us TWO massive shocks — Carmelo Hayes stealing the entire show and Cody Rhodes proving again why people think I “hate” him. Spoiler: I don’t hate Cody Rhodes. I’m HARD on Cody Rhodes because I know he can be even better than what we’re seeing.

Carmelo Hayes winning was one of the biggest surprises of the night, and I absolutely love it. If WWE is smart, they’ll push this momentum all the way to John Cena. Melo vs Cena as the final match in the tournament would be insane — and he deserves the spotlight.

But tonight’s real conversation is Cody Rhodes.
People in the comments always say I’m too harsh on him, or that I’m “anti-Cody,” but that’s not true at all. I’m harsh because Cody is THAT GOOD. I see greatness in him that he’s only tapping into in flashes. When he’s aggressive, when he’s confident, when he wrestles with intensity — THAT’S the Cody Rhodes who should be running this entire show.
