Voluntaryism is a moral and social philosophy built around one core idea: all human interactions should be voluntary and free from coercion. It treats the non‑aggression principle (NAP) as a moral imperative and views state authority as inherently coercive. Voluntaryists argue that even well‑intentioned government actions rely on force, so a truly ethical society must be based on consent, peaceful cooperation, and decentralized relationships. It does not inherently endorse capitalism or any specific economic system—only whatever emerges voluntarily.

Anarcho‑capitalism is a political and economic ideology that seeks to abolish the state entirely and replace all government functions—law, courts, policing, defense, and infrastructure—with private, competitive, market‑based providers. It emphasizes strong private property rights, contract enforcement, and free‑market capitalism as the organizing structure of a stateless society. It aligns with the NAP on voluntaryism but emphasizes market institutions as the mechanism for social order.
