Tensions between India and Pakistan have sharply escalated following India’s launch of Operation Sindoor, a series of strikes that reportedly targeted what New Delhi called terror training camps in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and in Pakistan proper. At least 29 people have been killed across both sides of the Line of Control. India claims it was targeting militant infrastructure, while Islamabad condemns the strikes, saying they hit civilian areas and mosques, and calling the operation an act of war.

Israel attacks Yemen’s Sanaa airport after issuing a threat warning people in the area to “immediately evacuate”, fewer than 24 hours after it bombed the country’s Hodeidah Port. Israeli forces have carried out air raids targeting Sanaa International Airport and several other sites in Yemen, reports the Houthi-affiliated al-Masira TV. Footage of the aftermath of the airport attack, verified by Al Jazeera, shows large clouds of dark smoke rising into the air over the capital. Among the other sites targeted are a cement factory to the north of the capital and a power station in the Bani al-Harith area, according to al-Masira TV.
