The release of nearly two thousand Palestinians imprisoned in Israeli jails begins after Hamas frees all 20 living Israeli captives held in the Gaza Strip as part of the ceasefire deal. Families of many of the Palestinian prisoners and detainees being released by Israel under an exchange deal say their long-awaited freedom is bittersweet after they learned their loved ones would be deported to third countries. That includes more than 1,700 Palestinians that were detained in Gaza, since the war began. Buses carrying the detainees have arrived in Khan Younis, where they were greated by large crowds. They will now have medical examinations and reunite with their families.
