A "Very special episode" is a term originally used in American television promos to refer to an episode of a sitcom or drama series which deals with a difficult or controversial social issue. The usage of the term peaked in the 1980s.
Welcome to 2021. Social unrest, racial inequality, a pandemic that is hopefully in its final fucking act, just to name a few of today's political and social economic climate. The best Television show runners in history, Norman Lear, Shawndra Rhymes, John Wells, just to name a few would never shy away from talking about such matters. We are here to honor an embody that.
