On this episode of TheTwoTwelve, I got to sit down w. a social media friend/acquaintance of mine.. @LamboKeem, the designer behind the streetwear brand, byLambo (& HERLAMBO!) I met this nigga like ten years ago on the world wide web, still don't know nothing bout him... but also know everything about him (IE. his little sister's nickname, boobie). LMAO - what kinda conundrum are we in yo? He has mastered the art of telling us just enough, yet still letting us into his world enough to be intrigued. I think as creatives, and honestly, just black people in general, we need to learn how to make safe boundaries that we're comfortable with - at home, with family/friends, in relationships, at the job etc. Being a personable friendly person is cool, but it can also be draining, and your mental health matters. Everyone doesn’t need access to us and most people only really want to know the information you’re not comfortable giving them, even if you've said EVERYTHING ELSE. On this weeks episode of TheTwoTwelve, I got a chance to sit down with a friend of mine, you may know him as Quest, or you may know him as the designer/creator/owner of his clothing brand ENQUOR. In this conversation we got to speak alot about perception and the sense of community he now has since he’s moved to Georgia in comparison to his life in Southside Queens New York. We went on to talk about his parenting and how it relates to his childhood and the changes that he would have for his son because of his experiences. This conversation also opened up and gave a voice to how he feels about vulnerability inside relationships not only with women but also with friends and family. We got his insight on what matters most to him, and generally most men, in the long run.

Why is it that we're reluctant to state our clear intentions up front if thats how we genuinely feel? Nothing answers that better than, fear of rejection. Were all in this dating pool, swimming around with piss in it. It's already tainted and often tampered with, and many of us don't like the discomfort of uncertainty - the probability that someone wont accept our truth. Is it really a loss if that persons intentions don't align with yours anyway? Be brave enough to live your life with intention; you’re the author of your story, make that shit lit.

In this episode I got to talk with my good brother, Naj @justnaj_ about his experience at Hampton University as an athlete. We spoke about his current career goals, and how he views relationships coming from a single parent home. We agreed that its more important to push your child's passion instead of being stuck in the traditional ways to raise children, because not only will it be more profitable, it will foster happier children. Thats honestly the change we all want to see. We spoke about the importance of networking and not being restricted to just associating to people who look like us, especially if we attended predominantly black schools our entire lives. The key to success is to ultimately create opportunities and spaces for us and by us to cultivate generational wealth - and i genuinely appreciate him for doing just that.
