In a world fixated on self-improvement, true purpose and fulfillment are paradoxically found in self-denial rather than self-enhancement. While our culture promotes endless personal development, Jesus teaches that we must lose our life to find it. This counter-cultural approach involves denying ourselves, taking up our cross, and following Christ. Real purpose emerges when we distribute our lives for the Gospel, serve others selflessly, and allow ourselves to be emptied so we can be filled with God's purposes.
