On The Way

The two witnesses resurrect

Listen Later

At the end of the eighteenth century, God raised up men and women who were committed to taking the gospel to the ends of the earth. People spread the message of the Bible rapidly. One such person was William Carey, who traveled to India and translated the Bible into dozens of local dialects. Propelled by the power of the Bible, missionaries were sent worldwide.

In unique words, at the end of the French Revolution, the Bible that had been burned in public squares was resurrected with great power to reach the whole world. Since France made war on God's two witnesses, they have been honored as never before. In 1804, the British and Foreign Bible Society was organized. Similar organizations followed in numerous branches on the European continent. In 1816, the American Bible Society was founded.

When the British Biblical Society was formed, the Bible had already been printed and was circulating in 50 languages. Since then, it has been translated into more than 2000 languages and dialects. It's interesting what the great Voltaire, famous for his criticisms of Christianity, once said: ‘I am weary of hearing people repeat that twelve men established the Christian religion. I will prove that one man may suffice to overthrow it.’

It has been more than 200 years since Voltaire died. And Christianity continues!
