The Unbelievable Tales of Avis LaRue (Podcast)

Avis figures she has nothing to lose running for student council. And, she was right, sort of.

After being ridiculed during a school assemble that looked like it played out from the movie, "Carrie", Avis wants nothing more than to be someone her parents can be proud of.

She puts the truth behind her when she tells her parents the unbelievable tale of not only winning the race but winning over so many of her schoolmates.

It's a new school year for Avis. She is taken aback by a rumor spread by one of the popular kids at school. When she tries to put an end to the rumor, Avis has to rely on outside reinforcements to get involved.

Avis may not have risen in popularity, but the underline message is don't mess with Avis.

Finally, Avis has the wheels in motion to become the new, improved, and greatly envied Avis LaRue.

She passed the test with those in the tiny town in Georgia.

With a little help from Renee - the Cardi B lookalike, she is on her way to destroying the awkward, molested, fat girl she has come to be.

What better way for Avis to thrust herself into the circle of popularity than to become one of the school's cheerleaders? If the road less traveled landed her in the spotlight, so be it. She would finally have the friendships and accomplishments she has tried so hard to develop. Then, Avis would be part of the team.

Avis LaRue is back with 2nd season. Avis is feeling as awkward as ever being in her body, in a new school, but facing the same problems.

If she plans to avoid years of solitude once again, she is going to need to undo the reputation of being the angry, new Black girl in town. She just needs people to give her a chance.
