The Uncommon Truth

This week, we go back to an old episode that was lost but has now been found. This is an episode from season 3 that, until today, has been unable to be downloaded due to a technical error, so get ready to enjoy this installment of the Uncommon Truth.

We'll be back with new content next week!

This lost episode looks at what Jesus sees as greatness in the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus lived perfectly as a servant who gave it all for the One who sent Him. How come we get stuck focusing on ourselves?

As we discuss Jesus' servant-based kingdom, we're immediately challenged by our selfishness. How can we let go of ourselves and trust Jesus to take care of us? What are some practical steps towards becoming great in the Kingdom?

This week's shorter episode covers chapter 10 of In His Likeness, Who Am I Supposed To Be? Steve, Vicki, and Luke discuss how Jesus' confidence in His identity empowered Him to be a son and do all the miraculous things He did.

Many of us are confused about who we are; we wonder if God will move when we pray or if it is His will or not. We must become who we are supposed to be in Christ to be his vicar on the earth.

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life - John 5:39-40

This week, we cover chapter 9 of In His Likeness, Quad-Rune God. Steve, Vicki, and Luke discuss that the Bible can become like the fourth member of the Trinity in many Christian circles. While the Bible is a miraculous God-inspired document, it is not, in fact, God. They also discuss how misinterpreting the scriptures can cause people to miss Jesus in the same way that the Jews did when he was on the earth. The scriptures point to Jesus, who is the one who saves, not the scripture itself.

The Father's House Church recently had Pastor Steve Orsillo preach a sermon on the thief on the cross. The story of this thief on the cross gaining eternal life with Jesus is often used as an excuse that we don't have to do any works in our life beside confessing Jesus and we are saved. Steve points out in this message that the opposite is shown in this story, don't miss this incredible impactful sermon.

This week, we cover chapter 8 of In His Likeness, My Words Will Judge You.

Steve, Vicki, and Luke discuss how many believers are confused because they are simultaneously trying to live the old and new covenant. Steve shares a testimony of how the Lord spoke to him and called him out of his confusion and to live out his life as a follower of the words of Jesus.

In John 12 Jesus says "If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day."

We will be judged one day on how well we followed his teachings, if we want to be fruitful believers who come in his likeness then we must be obedient to Him.

This week Vicki is back! The podcast trio is diving into chapter 6 (of Steve's book) which is all about asking God to heal our wrong thinking. There are so many beliefs and thoughts we hold onto that we hear people say and we take them as truth only to find out they are not biblical. This episode Steve and Vicki will go over some of those thoughts/beliefs and how the prayer of "God, heal my wrong thinking" revealed the truth. You don't want to miss this episode!

This week Luke is joined by Steve to talk about the topic of sonship. Many claim to be sons and daughters of God but the apostle Paul is very clear about sonship in his letters that there are conditions to who is called a son or a daughter of God. Is there evidence in your life of being a son or daughter of God?
