Suffering - Have you ever had to suffer? It's a question that really doesn't need an answer. Everyone suffers to some degree or another whether it's physical, emotional, or even spiritual, we all have to deal with suffering sooner or later. The real question to answer is: can we suffer successfully? The apostle Paul knew quite a bit about suffering for his faith and Jesus, yet he showed an amazing amount of joy, even as he endured great trials and physical hardships. All of our suffering is for our faith, but in Paul's letter to the church at Corinth, we find the secret to successful suffering.

Negatives - Most of us have heard the old saying: ''Nothing is certain but death and taxes.'' There is one other certainty in life, that is, all of us are going to have negative events in our lives. Christians aren't immune from the negatives, but we can be equipped to face them. It's been said that when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. In this message, Pastor Clay takes us to see Joseph, a man who experienced more than his share of negative events. He was the favorite son of his father, Jacob, but his life was rocked by one negative event after another but he overcame them by following two key biblical principles.

Fear - One of the greatest obstacles to living a God honoring life can be fear. Fear of failure, fear of persecution, or fear of the cost. These are just a few of the ways that fear can keep us from becoming all that God intended for us. Most of us know the personal effects that fear can have on us. Like a person afraid of heights, fears paralyzing effects hinders may followers of Jesus from following to the top and enjoying the view. Moses was a man that God intended to use for a very important purpose. We will see today that fear almost kept him from realizing his potential and God's kingdom.

Guilt - In the game of life one of the most painful spaces we can land on is guilt. Mistakes we have made, hurts we have caused, relationships that we have failed. These are just a few of the things that can bring guilt into our lives and can keep us stuck and unable to move forward. The Apostle Peter was someone who had good reason to feel guilty but he learned good reason to get out of guilt, and move forward with his life and God's purposes.
