When Jocelyn found out she was pregnant with baby number 2 she was ecstatic. This is what she was born for! She soon found herself in major pain that neither she nor the Doctors knew how to deal with. It was extremely difficult as she tried to balance time on bed rest with caring for her 3-year old son and be a work from home Mom. Without really knowing exactly what was wrong, her baby was born too early and spent her first few weeks of life in the NICU where Doctors didn’t think she would pull through. Jocelyn talks about her faith and what she learned about the love of our heavenly father and answered prayers as she went through this difficult time in her life.

In episode 4 of the Unexpected Unicorn we talk about Avery leaving the hospital and how the medical staff prepared the family for leaving. We shared what it's like to adjust to a new normal at home and the emotional tole it takes. I talked about how the atonement of Jesus Christ has been able to heal me from my sorrows and my guilt and sustain me through the darkest times post accident.
