“God is love” (1 John 4:8).  The only way that you become righteous and acceptable to God is through Jesus Christ. “In this was manifested the love God toward us that God sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live eternally through Him” (1 John 4:9). At the moment of salvation, you are given God’s righteousness. “The eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him and on those whose confidence is in His unfailing love” (Ps 33:18). It’s very easy to get emotional when talking about God and God’s love but the Christian life isn’t lived on emotions. It is lived in the mind. Self-control is critical in the battle of mind over emotions. “Patience is better than power and controlling your emotions better than capturing a city” (Prov 16:32).
