ACCESS TEW PORTAL FOR LIFE
This used to be me.
If my partner or roommates went away for the weekend, there were times I would genuinely rather stay home alone and binge than go out and see my friends.
Monday morning?
I HATED bingeing.
I felt bloated, guilty, uncomfortable and swore I was never doing it again.
But by Thursday or Friday?
I was excited about it again.
Thinking about what I was going to buy.
What I was going to eat.
When I could finally be alone and just switch off.
And eventually I realised something:
Bingeing wasn't just about the food.
It was excitement.
Dopamine.
Comfort.
Escape.
Something to look forward to after spending all week being disciplined, productive and "good."
So breaking my binge eating wasn't just about learning how to say no to food.
I had to build a life I didn't constantly need to escape from.
I had to find pleasure outside of food.
Learn how to slow down without needing a binge to force me to stop.
Learn how to sit in uncomfortable feelings without immediately acting on them.
And make my actual LIFE more exciting than the binge I was waiting for all week.
I recorded a little nugget podcast episode about exactly this 🎙️💗
If your weekend binge sometimes feels like the highlight of your week, this one is for you.
