There comes a point in your healing journey when you realize that keeping the peace is costing you your peace.
And that’s a hard realization.
Because sometimes, the people you have to set boundaries with aren’t strangers. They’re family. They’re people you grew up with. People you loved. People you defended. People you gave chance after chance to. Friends you thought would be there forever.
But then you finally get tired.
Tired of being disrespected.
Tired of being misunderstood.
Tired of always being the one expected to forgive.
Tired of being the bigger person while everybody else gets comfortable hurting you.
So you find your voice.
You start saying NO.
You stop explaining yourself.
