Ermington is a village and civil parish located approximately 2 miles south of the town of Ivybridge in the county of Devon, England. It’s not a large place, but large enough. And it was here, in 1976 a housewife who we will call Mrs G was pegging out her washing.
The day wasn’t particularly remarkable. The weather was average for February, the winter was not harsh but that didn’t discourage the chill winds.
It was then Mrs G noticed something. Abandoning her laundry; her attention was fully taken by a glowing blue object which seemed to be slowly advancing across the sky.

Laura Best was an artist; the year is 1968 and the place is Killackee in Ireland. When she and her husband Ben saw the house, they felt they had found what they were looking for. Situated within easy reach of the city yet far enough away to provide the solitude to concentrate on work, it seemed an opportunity too good to miss.
The house needed substantial renovation; it had stood empty for years and those years had not been kind to the property. But Ben and Laura knew this was the property for them and hired a team of workmen to get the property into a habitable condition.
