What’s something that’s perfectly legal but, in your opinion, should warrant a temporary stint in jail? Even if it’s just for a day, a brief time in a holding cell could give some individuals the opportunity to reflect on their choices and perhaps rethink their actions. Take, for instance, those who decide to remove their shoes on airplanes. Then there are those who chew loudly in open-plan offices. And what about those who opt to reply to voice notes with a text message? You sent them an audio recording for a reason, perhaps to convey tone or emotion that text simply can't capture. By responding with a text, they're disregarding the format and the intent behind your choice. A little time to ponder in a cell might help them respect the medium in the future.
