Speaking of elections, all you voting #Oregonians out there now is our time! Ballots and voter pamphlets have dropped *reggae horns* Give yourself enough to sit with the issues important to you, learn who’s responsible for what, and make sure the candidate's claims match the job description. Now is not the time to listen to polls, extra loud “people” with brand-new Twitter accounts, or folks that can’t tell the difference between political parties. Portland it’s time to get serious about the upcoming local elections!! Things are getting ugly, propaganda and people being extra uninformed is getting louder and louder. We talk about the misconceptions of how government runs, and how to spot those disingenuous politicians looking to line their buddy’s pockets instead of “cleaning up the city.”

Hint: #ReneGonzalez says his priority is homelessness (by throwing people in shelters or jail) but he’s running for the seat in charge of PBOT and civic engagement. Make that make sense!! His supporters are openly anti Black and use his brown skin as a shield. It’s big gross.

We also talk about welfare queen #BrettFarve and the intense amount of racism and hypocrisy happening by those flatly ignoring the story in order to uphold white me being above the law they claim to love so much.

On the unrefined side we get into Rachel D going from NAACP Chapter President to OnlyFans nipple pics, and try to crack the science of being able to transform into a gawkgawk3000 but not being able to brush your tongue without throwing up.

The Unrefined Sophisticates podcast has teamed up with the Community Energy Project for an ongoing series where we discuss the various green energy resources available to Black home and business owners, in the pursuit of changing our relationship with our environment, our energy options, and our bills.

For our last installment in this series, we are speaking with two homeowners who have benefitted from the Community Energy, and received invaluable fixes to their homes- which we learn is not only pivotal to our bank accounts, aka the bills we paying- but even more imperative to your physical and mental health. 

This series has been incredible! We are honored and grateful to learn as much as we have, get to speak with so many experienced people and get to spread the word by bringing this series directly to you.

What we’ve learned in this series, is that many fixes or upgrades you need around your house likely has something to do with energy efficiency, whether we know it or not.
