Feeling Overwhelmed? Here's How to Ground Yourself When Life Feels Chaotic
Some weeks simply don't go to plan.
In this episode I'm sharing what happened when my carefully organised week completely unravelled...from a poorly dog, medical appointments and changing plans, to trying to squeeze work into tiny pockets of time.
Rather than pushing through, it became an opportunity to practise exactly what I teach.
In this conversation we'll explore what grounding really means, why feeling "ungrounded" can show up as overwhelm, anxiety or overthinking, and some simple somatic practices you can use to come back to yourself.
Whether you're navigating stress, grief, uncertainty, menopause, cancer recovery, big life changes or simply feeling stretched too thin, I hope these tools help you find your footing again.
Journaling prompts:
✨ Where in your life do you currently feel most grounded?
✨ What drives your actions right now: fear, desire, necessity or something else?
✨ What are you avoiding because you don't yet feel safe enough?
✨ What grounding ritual could you commit to for the next seven days?
If you'd like to experience these practices with me, my weekly Unstuck Embodiment sessions combine gentle movement, breathwork, nervous system regulation and journaling to help you reconnect with yourself.
Subscribe if you're ready to create a life that feels calmer, more intentional and a little less stuck.

When Your Body Says STOP: Clarity Through Rest
This week on The Unstuck Edit, I’m talking about something unexpected: exhaustion. Not the cute “I need an early night” tired, the deep, bone‑level fatigue that forces you to stop.As a 5/1 Self‑Projected Projector, an embodiment teacher, and someone who has lived through cancer, menopause, and major life transitions, I’ve learned that clarity often arrives through slowing down, not pushing through. In this episode I explore:- Why Projectors burn out when they override their body- How fatigue can be a message, not a failure- What my recent Reiki drum journey revealed- How weather, menopause, moon cycles + conditioning affect energy- Why rest is a form of action- How embodiment, breathwork and human design help you tune in- A guided Earth Breath practice to ground your energyIf you’re feeling tired, stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected — this one is for you.✨ Sign up for my newsletter + get the free Emergency Unstuck Kit: Breathwork, speed journaling + nervous system reset tools👉https://subscribepage.io/unstuck_embodiment✨ Join The Unstuck Club Monthly embodiment classes, rituals + community👉 https://www.skool.com/the-unstuck-club-8621/about✨ Work with me 1:1 — The Guided Unstuck Edit 👉www.gailjchisholm.com✨ Human Design Readings now available 👉www.gailjchisholm.com

...what if you've simply never paused long enough to honour the transition you're living through?
In this episode of The Unstuck Edit, Gail explores the forgotten power of ritual and ceremony and why humans have gathered for thousands of years to mark endings, beginnings and everything in between.
Inspired by Bruce Feiler's book A Time to Gather, Gail reflects on cancer, divorce, menopause, grief, identity shifts and everyday rituals that help regulate the nervous system and reconnect us to ourselves.
You'll discover:
✨ The difference between ritual and ceremony
✨ Why modern life has lost many meaningful transitions
✨ How simple rituals reduce anxiety and create belonging
✨ Why getting unstuck might be about honouring where you are rather than pushing harder

Reflection Questions
• What chapter of your life is asking to be acknowledged?
• What part of yourself needs thanking before you let it go?
• What would change if you believed you deserved a ceremony instead of simply coping?
Transformation rarely arrives with fireworks. Sometimes it simply asks to be witnessed.
