How we became executives in the beauty industry.  The question we get asked almost daily by aspiring women and men wanting to know how we were able to get into our roles in a competitive yet rewarding industry.

We will share our personal journeys of the rise of our careers and share our speed bumps as well as lessons we learned with over 25 years of combined experience.

We share tips on:

·       Educating yourself on the industry in front and behind the glam.  Know which brand and products your passionate about using and selling.

·       Networking within your industry.  Step outside your world and get to know and network with fellow beauty professionals.

·       Stay current with beauty trends and education in the industry.  The best professionals in the industry always grow their craft.

·       Ask questions…. The best way to learn is to just simply ask.

·       Take initiative and do the job you want.  You have landed an entry-level position take initiative to ask for extra responsibilities.

·       Be genuine when building relationships.  Remember in the world of beauty you want to stand out for being you and kind.

·       Keep a great reputation no matter where you are in your career.  The beauty industry is a very tight-knit community, you will never know if you'll come across someone from your past.

·       Last but not least put your best foot forward and do not give up!

Why is being black still a crime in Amerikkka in 2020?  The 13t Amendment in 1865 was the abolishment of slavery. So, they say.....we still can not be free in the land of the free and the home of the brave as our star-spangled banner sings.

Still, as POC we are denied not only the right of freedom as a US citizen but as a human.  We are forced to fight a fight that seems to be the war that we solemnly stand alone.  Yet to be looked upon as less relevant than a man because of the rich melanin of our skin.  Today we will talk about the recent unfortunate events, yet another name, hashtag, RIP……..another murder and slaying of the recent black man George Floyd by the hands of a murderer hiding behind a system of the unjust.
