Remember when you were eight years old and on Easter morning the “Easter Bunny” hid a bunch of eggs around your house? You were in your pajamas and gnarly bed hair, looking through narrowed eyes at your siblings, sizing up your competition. You were thinking “As soon as mom and dad say ‘go’, I’m going into over-drive and will own you. I will literally find every egg and piece of random Easter candy that the rabbit magically stashed in our house while we slept.” Good times, right?
Now, imagine that same scenario, but in this nightmare, when your parents give the green light, your brothers and sisters start ripping through the house, snagging every pastel egg, jelly bean, and chocolate varmint in sight and not in sight. You, on the other hand, are frozen, unable to move. Feet stuck to the carpet. And as your siblings fill their baskets with Easter treats of joy, a tear falls from your left eye as you glance at the emptiness of your sad little basket, still tightly gripped in your fist of rage and sorrow.
Sounds far-fetched, right? Well, that’s what happened the other day when Upland released the metaversical city of Santa Clara, California and its amazingly choice properties. Virtual real estate surrounding the world’s most advanced technology companies, like Apple, Google, YouTube, and more! That’s right - Silicon Valley was the target, and blockchain profits were the reward. And, as soon as it was go-time, as soon as the Upland boys said ‘go’, it was a mad dash to the most coveted properties. But then - the music stopped as most players found they couldn’t go anywhere - rooted to the very spot; grounded even. Yes, SENDS were broken, and with out a SEND, a player can not travel to where he/she needs to go to buy the BEST of the BEST in Santa Clara. Within minutes, people were screaming, yelling, and crying - watching the good stuff get snagged right in front of their helpless, frantic eyes.
In tonight’s episode, LOYLDOYL and McSqueeb go head to head, toe to toe, about the merits of Upland and what should have happened. If you like a good fight, watch UFC. If you like an intellectual and passionate debate about the metaverse and what the perceived responsibilities of Upland should or should not be, you MUST NOT MISS THIS EPISODE.
