This week we briefly conclude some application points from the previous week, then review Matthew's recounting of the murder of John the Baptist.

This week we look at Matthew's comments on Jesus' time in His hometown of Nazareth. Why did He do only a few miracles while there?

Our study this week is focused on 1 Samuel 17 and the battle between David and Goliath. Rather than a classic underdog story, we learn that this battle is a picture of Christ's once-for-all victory over Satan, and as the army of Israel was freed from slavery to Philistia by David, so we are saved from slavery to sin by the Son of David, Jesus Christ.

In this study, we review the Parable of the Dragnet, which leads us into a study on the sobering reality of hell.

We consider two short, related parables: the parable of the treasure in a field and the parable of the pearl of great price. How is the Kingdom of Heaven depicted in these two parables?
