Hey folks – welcome to fall! It seems like there is some kind of correspondence between the nights cooling off and the calendar heating up. I’ll have to look into that…
In the meantime, let’s get together and continue exploring what we believe. We can do that at any time of the year.
This Sunday, we’ll gather at Creative Manitoba (245 McDermot Avenue – 4th floor) at around 10:30 a.m. to explore the “upside-down power of being wrong”. I’ve been fascinated lately with how many of our guiding sources of information are predicated on being wrong. I won’t expand that idea here because we’re going to explore it when we gather, but any time we say something like “science tells us…”, we are citing an information source that comes from a discipline whose core principal is that of moving from one hypothesis to another as each previous idea is proven to be either incomplete or wrong. And then there’s the practical absurdity of a trope like “love is never having to say your sorry”. Wrong! Anyway, we’ll dig into all this and more on Sunday.
A Kids Table update – Kids Table will be BACK IN ACTION ON SEPTEMBER 15th! (Why am I yelling? Because it’s a big deal, is why…) The team that cares for our littles could use at least one more member, so if that holds some interest for you please be in touch. You can talk to any of the current team members (Amy, Arielle or Sasha) in person, or respond to this email.
Once again, a big Thank You to all the people that step up every week to help our gatherings exist, and a warm welcome to the new team members that have jumped in this fall. It’s a lot of fun to make The Table together with each of you.
I’ll see you on Sunday.
Peace
