Dr. Daniel Man is an Israeli war hero. While serving in the Israel Defense Forces reserves as a Doctor in a medical position along the Suez Canal during the 1973 Yom Kippur War, he was captured by the Egyptian Army after its surprise attack on Israel.
Before his capture on October 7, 1973, Dr. Man displayed extraordinary courage by helping save the lives of several fellow Israeli soldiers in his bunker while disarming an Egyptian soldier and seizing his weapon during his target practice on what the soldier thought were dead bodies. Dr. Man and several other living soldiers head under the dead bodies.
After enduring 46 days as a prisoner of war, Dr. Man was released as part of a prisoner exchange between Israel and Egypt. He returned home to his pregnant wife, Dena.
In 1974, Dr. Daniel Man, Dena, and their newborn son, Uri Man—now host of The Uri Man Show—immigrated to the United States. Dr. Man went on to build a distinguished and highly successful plastic surgery practice in Boca Raton, Florida, where he dedicated his career to helping thousands of patients over the decades.
