Bryan Fischer here with the Life and Liberty Minute. In Samuel’s day, the Philistines defeated Israel and captured the ark of the covenant, the symbol of God’s presence on earth. But every city which hosted the ark soon found its men were afflicted with tumors. The hand of God was so heavy against them and their false god Dagon they finally cried out to heaven. Their own priests instructed them to give glory to the God of Israel and send the ark back to Israel with a guilt offering so they could escape the fate of Egypt at the hands of Yahweh. The Philistines discovered the hard way that no one is able to stand against the holy God of Israel. God’s hand is heavy against our land this day, and if we want him to lift his hand from us, we must do what the pagans of Philistia did - fall on our faces, cry out to heaven, and give glory to the holy God of Israel. Will we do it?
