The U.S. Must Veto the UN's Next Attack on Israel
The UN Security Council is poised to cause real and lasting harm to Israel. Will Team Biden enable that to happen? An impending, binding resolution would impose on Israel an "immediate, unconditional, and permanent cease-fire" in Gaza. It would enable Hamas to survive and, effectively, to win the war it murderously launched on October 7th last year.
There's reason to believe the outgoing Biden administration will not veto this diplomatic attack on our ally. As international attorney Anne Bayefsky notes, it's designed to "Trump-proof the failed Biden agenda. Once a Security Council resolution is adopted, the Russians and the Chinese would veto any attempt to revoke it."
The American people overwhelmingly support Israel and just gave a mandate to President Trump to do the same. The Biden team must respect democracy, not betray it – and our most
important ally.
