Sometimes we’re in a dry valley, asking, “Why this struggle—why me?“ We can also feel disappointed—even by ourselves—and our hearts are sick because that thing we’re praying for still hasn’t shown up. God’s power and faithfulness are still fully active in the midst of it all. Pastor Grace Dickow tells us why the “valley” is underrated. “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.“ (Proverbs 13:12, NASB) It’s in the valley—the dark place—that hope lives. That’s because Jesus shows up there. He’s the only one who can satisfy us. In that dark moment, we can push through! We will see growth and change, and Jesus will be there with us, pulling us through with love.
