We were in the studio with Karen Poff, an extension agent in the Northern Shenandoah Valley serving Clarke, Frederick, Page, Shenandoah, and Warren counties. She also manages the Northern Shenandoah Valley Financial Education Program which offers a Money Management Series several times a year, hosts a "Reality Store" at several local high schools, and offers a Volunteer Training for people interested in learning and teaching others about saving & managing their money effectively. Karen gave us a dozen different ways - both small and large - to save money in the new year, along with some strategies for maintaining those habits. She also told us about the upcoming volunteer training. You can download the flyer with those details here: Bulletin Board Volunteer Recruitment Flyer, Winter 2019 For more information about the tips we discussed, to request the list of resources available to federal employees currently affected by the government shutdown, or to get details about upcoming classes, you can contact Karen: Warren County Office, 220 North Commerce Avenue, Suite 500, Front Royal, VA 22630-3495 Phone: 540-635-4549 Work Cell: 540-750-6426 E-mail: [email protected] Sign Up for Their Upcoming Programs E-mail List: http://eepurl.com/bYpm9j NSV Financial Education Website - http://warren.ext.vt.edu/programs/nsvfep.html NSV Financial Education Facebook Page - https://www.facebook.com/nsvfinancialeducation NSV Financial Education Twitter Account - @VCEKarenPoff
