It's time for yet another cover from the album The FuMP Desecrates Tom Lehrer AVAILABLE NOW IN THE FuMP STORE!this time by former altar boy and recovering Catholic, the great Luke Ski. Tom Lehrer's The Vatican Rag from 1965 was done as his response to the Second Ecumenical Council of the Vatican's proposed reforms to the Catholic Church to make it more appealing to the general public. It's been 58 years since then, and it's safe to say the Catholic Church still has an image problem (among MANY. OTHER. PROBLEMS.), so I decided to tackle this swingin' dance hall tune and write some new lyrics to bring it up to speed. Forgive me Father, for I have FuMPed.
