Rio Infantino used to be the CEO of Copper Branch, a fast-casual restaurant company founded in Montreal that is the world's largest 100% plant-based restaurant chain.
- He studied psychology because he wanted to understand people better, but he found that it was also relevant to business, as understanding people is important for running a successful business.
- He got his start in the restaurant industry by chance, finding a job washing dishes at a restaurant called Angelo El Cacciatore on Crescent Street in Montreal.
- Rio was inspired to focus on healthier eating after his grandmother passed away when he was a young teenager, and he realized that her diet had contributed to her early death.
- Rio is an entrepreneurial person who enjoys facing challenges, creating something different, and meeting amazing people.
In 2021, Foodtastic Inc acquired The Copper Branch brand. "Copper Branch is the largest vegan restaurant brand in the world, and we are happy to welcome it into the Foodtastic family," said Peter Mammas, President and CEO of Foodtastic.
