Ypsmael rolls out a blurry felt carpet of crackling ambient and drone textures, pierced by deep yellow rays of late afternoon light. Soon joined by the sound of hissing wind in the leaves and the smell of imminent cloudburst in the air under a murky canopy, as we start sliding down a long, steep gradient.

Xurba sits in for his fifth VCA Session delivering a mammoth mix of underground retro styled electronica varying in pitch, pace and tone. Delighful, disturbing and genuinely odd... there's something for everyone here! Featuring tracks from Datasette, Trash 80, Eight Frozen Modules, Keith Le Blanc, Claro Intelecto, Vim!, Cornbeast and more.

Witness the subtle yet relentless techno rhythms of the H.O.T. sound seamlessly mixed together by skilled the hands of H-Tech.

Back in the 1980s, when MP3 was a term for a small collective of

English politicians, we used to listen to our music on vinyl discs with a central locating

hole in the middle. Sometimes these holes were slightly off-centre, and this caused the

pitch of the music to fluctuate slowly, simulating a doppler effect. These defective

discs became very popular in certain musical circles, and were affectionately called

'woozyphons'. This mix is dedicated to the slightly off-centred and idiosyncratic

music of our current demoscene artists.

Xurba is in the mix again for a drum and bass work out featuring tracks from various netlabel artists. Also watch out for the new Xurba LP out now on Kahvi Commercial.

Xurba takes the studio hot seat for a lateral excursion into melodic, beat driven textures from electronic allies far & wide.

This mix features a rich selection of quality output from independent artists and netlabels.
