Dennis and Charmian Arevalo have served God in Lima, Peru for around 20 years, using teaching skills, musical talents, and their passion sharing God’s love to help further the Gospel. In this episode, Pastor Jared Bryant of Bethel Church shares his testimony and his passion for global missions. We discuss the definition of “missions,” and also how pastors and missionaries can work together to spread the Word of God to the many unreached people groups that still exist today. We also talk about how Bethel Church has launched a new campus for Chinese speakers and is in the process of launching one for Spanish speakers. He shares what starting projects like these look like, and how God brought it all together. Jared’s passion for missions, cultures, and the Gospel is infectious, and I’m sure you’ll feel encouraged to do your part in spreading the Good News after listening to what he has to say. Also, I also give a quick update to how Paola and I are doing, and what we have been up to during the last few weeks.

So, this podcast might be moving to Wednesdays in the future. I’m not sure yet when or if that’ll happen quite yet. Hopefully soon, I’ll be doing some sort of “bonus” episodes. I’m not exactly sure what that’ll be like, but I hope you like it!... whatever it ends up being… and whenever it comes out…

They share what going to such a culturally diverse school was like, how they think and feel about graduating during a pandemic, what is next for them, and what God has taught them over this stage of their lives. In this Episode, I briefly reflect on the crazy week the U.S.A. has had, from sending men back into outer space to the George Floyd case and protests. From there, I give a Peru Versus the Corona Virus Crisis update, in which we compare COVID19’s effect on Peru with its effect on the States.

The meat of the episode is the fun interview I had with two of my co-workers Lauren and Brooke. They started teaching at ICS Lima this year, and they share how God got them there, what it’s like to be roommates with someone you’ve never met before, what it is like to be a single missionary, and why there aren’t more single guys on the mission field.  It’s a great conversation, and I think you’ll really enjoy it!
