The View from the Western Terrace

Luka, Coxy and Gubbo sit down to dissect England's defeat to India in the T20I series and another enthralling round of the Six Nations.

The women in our lives take over the mic to mark #iwd2021 and discuss the state of women's sport.

A review of the England vs India series with Middlesex batsman and friend of the pod, Nick Gubbins.

We discuss binning the pink ball, scrapping the toss, and Jimmy Anderson’s appetite for dirt.

Tune in for a light-hearted review of what was a bad week for English mens sport. This week we ask big questions like, 'Is Ryan Sidebottom the best bowler in the world?'

Our guest on this week's pod is former England U20's, Northampton Saints, and London Irish rugby player Tom Stephenson.

Just a few years after leaving school, the talented centre had won back-to-back junior world cups (2013 & 2014), as well as the premiership and the challenge cup with Saints in 2014.

But after a string of serious injuries, Tom retired from the professional game in 2020, aged just 26. He has since revealed the heavy mental toll that these injuries took, explaining how he was driven to dark places and destructive drinking to replace the thrill of top-flight rugby.

In an amazingly honest and candid interview, Tom talks us through his rugby journey, speaking passionately about his desire to share his experience to help others.

Recording this reminded us that mental health issues often lie hidden beneath the surface. Keep checking in with the people around you and if you are experiencing any of the issues discussed here, feel free to reach out.

The boys return to discuss the change in England's fortunes in Chennai, and a Six Nations weekend packed full of flair. Oh, and the time that Luka met James Lowe while dressed as a lobster.

This week the lads discuss the action from the first England vs India test in Chennai with special guest Nick Gubbins, before delving into an entertaining first round of the Six Nations.
