This week, we explored what it means to follow Jesus by looking at both our day-to-day discipleship and the bigger picture of how God is transforming our lives over time. In Mark 1, when Jesus called His first disciples, He invited them into a journey of becoming—not an instant change, but a lifelong process shaped by relationship with Him.

Like Bilbo climbing above the forest canopy to regain perspective, we’re reminded to step back and see our spiritual journey from God’s vantage point. When we do, we can recognise the progress we’ve made, receive encouragement for where we are now, and gain clarity about where God is leading us next.

This path of discipleship isn’t about striving for perfection—it’s about allowing Jesus to transform us as we walk with Him through the real circumstances of our lives. Whether we’re navigating family life, work pressures, or seasons of uncertainty, God wants us to remember: we’re not alone, we’re growing, and He’s still at work in us.
