IQ Business launched its inaugural Youth Progress Index that set out to investigate the status of youth and quality of life across the nine provinces between 2013 to 2018. The Department of Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD), in partnership with the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), have introduced a National Youth Resilience Initiative (NYRI) to support and promote the psychosocial well-being and resilience of youth in South Africa.

The objectives of the National Youth Resilience Initiative are to highlight the issue of the psychosocial well-being and resilience of young people during and in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.
