Moments With Jesus by The Vine; a church in Austin, TX

In our current series—Moments with Jesus—we are hearing from Vine members about specific moments in which Jesus taught them something meaningfully in a special way. Rachelle shares with us from Mark 14 about Jesus’ experiences praying in the garden of Gethsemane, while his disciples fell asleep. You will especially want to hear her talk about how we place rules on the way we pray and how Jesus’ approach to communicating with God can be more vulnerable than we realize.

Vine member Frank Vasquez shares his "moment with Jesus," encouraging us to remember how loved we are by God and referencing the scripture of Thomas and Jesus in John 20.

Vine staff member Fabs Harford kicks off our new sermon series, "Moments with Jesus," with a message from Luke 22. Fabs shares how Peter's faith didn't actually fail even though he denied Jesus, and that Jesus invites him to return home again.

Gabe shares a practical message about being relationally-oriented, using the passage from Mark 2:1-12 about the paralytic man. We learn about the beauty of being trapped in a web of relationships. Gabe teaches us how to be givers, receivers, and celebrators of people in and around our lives.

Christy explored what it means to be a practice-based community at The Vine. Just like his disciples in Matthew 4:18-22, we can follow Jesus by practicing daily and weekly habits that strengthen our relationship with him and with those around us. Christy examines three questions that help us learn how to turn a practice into a habit; to see what is in our way; and to find out who we are becoming.

Haley shared from Mark 5 a lesson about being outward focused on those who are pushed to the outskirts of society and who experienced many forms of oppression.

This week in our DISTINCTIVES series, we heard a message from Vine staff member Fabs Harford on our Third Way distinctive. Referencing Romans 14:1-10 and other scriptures, Fabs shares with us about Christ's call to a unity of posture over position, and what that means for us as a church.

We continued our DISTINCTIVES series this week with a message from Vine member Ron Ragsdale about our distinctive of being biblically-rooted. Using Psalm 1 and other scriptures, Ron shares about what it means for The Vine to be biblically-rooted.
