Why is it important to view paranormal evidence accurately? Sounds like ano-brainer, but its much more subtle and hardly simple. We may see it as eithergood evidence or not. At first glance, it’s black or white, right? Usually, thesecond something is labeled paranormal, it becomes true to those who areinvolved. And likewise, if we have doubt, we discard it and it becomes false bydefault. Black or white – true or false – nothing in the middle there. Butthere are tons of folks in the field who have either lost sight with reality orwho choose not to recognize it, and all too often, good evidence is the firstcasualty of their flawed thinking.

Belief

and disbelief are part of the same equation, but these days it sometimes seems

that to believe in things paranormal indicates a lack of judgment or

intelligence. Still, it appears to be quite true that by believing, further

study and advancement become possible – disbelief takes us nowhere; teaches us

nothing. With EVP, the only requirement of belief comes in accepting that the

voice is, in fact, a voice of some kind – not a strange combination of ambient

sound, electronic interference, and coincidence. Throughout the history of this

podcast we’ve explored the meaning of such unexplained voices – always

accepting first that they do exist.

Sometimes,

even in the face of hard, very convincing evidence, the most difficult part of

dealing with EVP and the paranormal is self-doubt. Doubt usually sets in

quickly and in a matter of seconds can undo hours and days of comprehensive

analysis and substantiated evidence. Doubt has a place, of course, but just

like its opposite - belief, it can get in the way and easily obscure the truth.

We should always feel free to question evidence at any time, but this kind of

doubt, emotionally driven, should not be confused with skepticism.

To

quote The Rolling Stones, “you can’t always get what you want, but if you try

sometime, you just might find, you get what you need.” This episode is devoted

to the final results of the Bi-Location Experiment Phase Two. The experiment

centered around results in bi-location tests through use of EVP involving two

investigators – one in Newbury UK and the other Baltimore USA. The final

results are extremely interesting and as The Stones said, sometimes “you get

what you need.”

Before

a single word is spoken, EVP can teach us a great deal, and having a multitude

of spirit voices to analyze makes it possible. EVP have proven to be our best

evidence gathering method and have provided thousands upon thousands of

authenticated communications from beyond. This allows us to draw some

conclusions and take several steps forward in our efforts to understand both

the afterlife and those who are there.

This

episode goes back in time about 8 years to replay part of an early pre-Voices

broadcast focused on the spirits around children. By offering several samples,

we’re able to recognize the presence of many voices you would never hear if it

weren’t for EVP. The episode features samples from a single session surrounding

a newborn child and takes place in a proven active location. The different

voices that seem to have accompanied the child were never recorded before or

after this session – even to this day.

In

reality, the paranormal invades our lives simply and subtly. It’s rarely about

the fabled red-eyed demon thrashing its way into your soul while laughing

hysterically. Actually, its calling cards begin quietly. Gentle sounds that

shouldn’t be there; momentary breaks in the silence, or voices from the

woodwork, or the shadows… The paranormal sneaks up on you and says boo in a

hush, because the reality of that is more terrifying. The paranormal surprises

you because there’s no reason it should be there, and yet, there it is. Not

everything we perceive to be paranormal actually is, but sometimes it’s worse

than we could imagine.

What

are your expectations when you record for EVP? Do they owe you a response? And

what are your responsibilities to whatever spirits you find? Some of us want to

send the spirits we meet into the light – we want to cross them over, but there

has always been a nagging question as to the wisdom of doing that. At some

point, our insertion into the afterlife equation becomes a moral dilemma, and

there is no short supply of opinion as to what our role should be. Or should

not be.

On

rare occasion, dreams can seem far too real to simply be the meanderings of a

weary mind. Sometimes, they are just too intense, or feel like the avenue for

contact with deceased loved ones and passed friends. Often, we awake convinced

it was real and have to convince ourselves otherwise, but there is some thought

that these visitation dreams are exactly as the name suggests – contact from

beyond. This episode explores a series of incidents and related EVP surrounding

one such dream that quite possibly represents the communication of a distressed

spirit from beyond the grave.
