Wow does today’s guest have a story! Aramis “Chico” Aguilar was born in El Salvador and his story of immigrating to Canada is full of action and heartbreak. Chico lost his Father and Grandfather to the senseless violence they sought to escape and ended up coming to Canada the man of the house at 11 years old. He then took all of the opportunities given to him and built himself an amazing life in Edmonton. The thankfulness and perspective he has is something we can all learn from and I enjoyed the hell out of what is sure to be the first of many conversations!

Morning y’all! Today we have a good friend of mine from university David Won on the podcast! We recently reconnected at a going away party for another friend of ours and ended up spending half the night doing an unrecorded podcast on K-pop. We had such a ball I knew we had to fire up the mic’s and get it on the record. We tell some old dodgeball and lister stories, talk some basketball, of course a ton of K pop but more than that David gave me a crash course in all things Korea that I found absolutely fascinating! David recently went on a 5 week trip back to Korea and hearing about how things run there really opened my eyes to an entire culture I was woefully ignorant of.  Of course we are both goofballs so you won’t be able to write an essay on by any means but we can promise you a ton of laughs that will make you forget you are even learning anything!

We heard your feedback and got Jayde back on the NVW show! We went down even more rabbit holes and had a whole ton of laughs.  We chat about the recent movies we have seen including, Top Gun, the new Thor, Encanto and many more. I pitch Stranger Things to Jayde in the hopes of convincing her to watch as well as letting the world know how much I love that show!

As always we get a little deep from time to time but we balance this episode out nicely with some randomness and silly goose talk (My fav!)

Dangerfest was a huge success and a very important moment for comedy in Alberta.  For an industry so locked down by corporate money and opportunities to have a private group put on an independent comedy festival completely by themselves is extraordinary! I break down my experience at the shows including the Danger Room and the Roast Battle and also the last hour is a podcast the boys were gracious enough o let me record with them after the very first night of the festival form the greenroom! This week was full of huge laughs and it really felt like I got a crash course in comedy just form watching these pros do their thing and I couldn't be more excited to dive further into the world of comedy.
