Hey everyone, thanks for checking out this week's episode of the Walk'n'talk podcast.
Today we just talk a bit about the differences between marketing and sales. Marketing is how we deliver our brand message to the world, Sales is how we convert potential customers into paying clients. These two worlds are so different, yet so similar. Their end goals are about growing the business, but how they achieve that goal is vastly different.
We also dive into whether this difference could be chalked up to whether it is an introvert's specialty or an extrovert's specialty. The stereotypical notion of a salesperson is pushy, masculine, & social - More extroverted. However, Marketing could also be an extrovert's game, since it is about social skills and persuading people through emotional means. But with marketing, there is more deliberation and behind the scenes work that goes on before any action is taken. So this would imply it to be more of an introvert's game.
So this is the dichotomous nature of the two, and we just share our thoughts and experiences on the subject. This was inspiried by a Tim Conley Youtube video where he described himself as an introvert, but we never saw him that way.
