Matt recorded a bonus episode in which he dives into a topic that he has given a LOT of thought... Listen at your own discretion!
Hi All! And welcome back to another John Intsum episode! Let's map the battle!
Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a very special boy, I mean very special guest for you today. How can I describe this guy? First, he is the reason why I am not fishing today. He is the descendent of a Nordic King, King Farehair, so some could say the guest is a Nordic Princess. He is a man among men and a Marine that I wrote extensively about in War Business. The greatest compliment that I could give him is to accurately describe him as Average at Best. Ladies, Gents, CIA Handlers and BigFoot, today’s guest is Matthew Dyba.
Today, we continue to take a deep-dive into Matt’s book: War Business: The Hired Guns of Helmand Province. We will do a Q&A with one of our hosts and the author himself, Matthew Brunnemann. This is part 4 of the series. If you haven’t seen parts 1, 2, and 3 yet, go ahead and check them out before you watch / listen to this episode (unless you like the chaos, in which case go nuts).
If you guys have any questions for Matt about his book, please feel free to email us at [email protected], dm us on our social media, or drop ‘em in the comments below. If we get enough listener questions together, we will do another episode just to get those answered! So, don’t forget to buy Matt’s book and do your homework. There WILL be a test.
Welcome to this episode of The War Business Podcast. You are all in for a special treat with today’s guest. The guest reached out to me (Matt) a few months ago when my book finally hit the market. For those of you who read it, you might remember that I mentioned a reoccurring phantom Kandahar deployment. Part of my company was going to break off and reinforce a U.S. Army unit that was in the fight for their lives in a valley that somewhat split Helmand and Kandahar provinces. Well, our guest was one of the U.S. soldiers in that valley of death.
This marks our first guest who is not a Marine, so all you Army fellas out there can finally get some love. Brendan and I will have to go to confession for this, but we are going to allow it.
Lastly, being that our guest is a member of the intelligence community, we are keeping his identity concealed and we will refer to him as John.

Welcome back to The War Business Podcast. We are interviewing Marine Corps Royalty today! Some of you may know of his industrious work for Funker530. For the rest of you who do not, fix yourself and familiarize yourself with his work after this episode. Our guest for today is Joshua Brooks.

Tony “Sea Bass” Klein was a Sergeant of Marines and an 0231 Intelligence Specialist. Most veterans were lucky if they got to go to war once. Maybe to Iraq or Afghanistan. Sergeant Klein is one of the very few Marines to have ever deployed to three different theaters in one enlistment. First he went to Iraq and then on a MEU. Tony was preparing to leave the Marine Corps when he was requested by name to be a combat reinforcement in Afghanistan for RCT-1. Check out his episode and listen to his service; you just might find out how you can get from California to Afghanistan without a plane ticket…
