A federal appeals court has agreed with the Washington D.C. Metro that they were within their rights to refuse to post a Christmas ad campaign sponsored by the archdiocese. The ad campaign, titled “Find the Perfect Gift”, was nixed because it violated the Metro’s policy against ads that promote “any religion, religious practice or belief”. The court found that since the Metro had not posted any secular ads regarding Christmas, the Archdiocese of Washington was not being discriminated against. Do you think it’s a problem that the Catholic Church is not allowed to promote Christmas during the Christmas season? Or was the Metro right to refuse the ad campaign?
