Ephesians 6:10-13

[10] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. [11] Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. [12] For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. [13] Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

1. Whom does Paul identify as our enemy/enemies? Why must we view these creatures as limited and defeated and yet powerful and active?

2. In what ways can we fall into battling “flesh and blood” instead of our spiritual enemies? What can result from this misdirected warfare?

3. Drawing from CS Lewis, what are two major errors to be avoided when thinking about Satan and demons? Why would Satan want people to doubt his existence?

4. How does Satan use deception, variety, and subtlety? How is he both a strategist and an opportunist?

6. How is our warfare defensive in nature? How does that inform how we fight?
