Anabel Soto was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in BedStuy Brooklyn. She amplifies the images and voices of immigrants and people of color through books for children, poetry and flash fiction.
Anabel is still adjusting to the biggest promotion and most challenging role of her life—that of mother. Prior to that Anabel led a carefree life as beauty editor turned sales executive. When she’s not hovering over or dashing after her very own Batgirl and Spiderman, she’s enjoying a brief minute of downtime for a gulp of wine.
Anabel is a Highlights Foundation Fellow and has performed for PEN America Lit Crawl NYC. Her work has been featured in national publications such as Health Magazine and Seventeen magazine. the national-award-winning magazine Dollars & Sense, the literary journal Encounters, the New Voices Anthology and the Anthology Ritmo Que Late.
