Jesus has not called us to some pacifist position but to be so passionately pursuing the good of others and the glory of His name that our life has to take on a radically new direction and radically new purpose.

Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.

To love our enemies like Jesus has loved His, we must be pro-actively, sacrificially, and beneficially act in their best interest

To truly love those opposed to us, we must love them just like Jesus has loved us

As we follow, Jesus assures us not by rewards on Earth but the promise of Heaven and He warns us not to find our hearts filled by what is fleeting.

Jesus didn’t call His Apostles because of who they were, but He knew who He would make them to be, the same is true for you and me.

Because Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath He is Lord of everyone and everything on every day

Jesus’ gospel of grace is our singular source of hope for life and joy in life

Until we are confronted with the reality of our sin, we cannot appreciate how special the Gospel call of Jesus is
