  • Personal Change Happens Internally First

How do highly successful and positive people live their lives?

What are they doing on a day to day?

They manage their internal state for success. They know how to will themselves to do the hard work, to summon their best thoughts, to slow down when things are getting too hectic. They are incredible managers of the emotions. In your life, decide on one personal change you would like to make.

What do you believe about this positive change?

What do you think you might struggle with?

What is the story you tell yourself about yourself?

What will you do differently to get different results?

This is the ‘Inner Work’ that must be done to achieve long-term sustainable success. You can do it! It’s possible. It takes practice. Do the work. Let me know how it goes!

    3M Framework:

    1) How do you start your mornings?

    2) How do you move your body everyday?

  • Am I Ever Going to Fit?

In this episode, I interview a friend and colleague, KYLA MITSUNAGA, a Mind-blowing Results Coach, Healer, and Subconscious Expert. In this gem-filled interview, she talks about her framework for helping clients make progress, how she stays positive despite difficulty, her definition of success, and many more awesome insights.

    GEMS FROM THIS EPISODE:

    3A Framework: Awareness, Acceptance, Action

This can help you understand where you are, what you need to accept, and what you can actually take action on. In Kyla’s words “You can’t act on something you don’t accept. You can’t accept something that you are not aware of.” So, self-growth happens in this order: AWARENESS > ACCEPTANCE > ACTION. Acceptance being the most difficult, yet important step.

Facing Society’s Definition of Success vs. Facing Your Definition of Success

“Reframe the way in which you understand success…whose definition of success are you looking at?”

    • Society– Tesla (check), House (check), Multiple Credit Cards (check)
    • Kyla’s Definition - Freedom to Travel (check), Be in Eureka with Auntie Helping Her Move (Check), Living without Regrets (check)
    • JUDGMENT and FORGIVENESS SEESAW

“When your judgment of self and others is high, your forgiveness of self and others is low.”

“When your judgment of self and others is low, your forgiveness of self and others  is high.”

For the high achievers, forgive yourself more in your life’s journey. Being forgiving is just as important as achieving.

      WINNING RESULTS vs. BONUS RESULTS

Swimming everyday is a bonus result.

Forgiving yourself when you don’t go swimming is a winning result.

Wanting to grow through fear is a winning result.

Achieving the income goal is the bonus result.

Value winning results more, or in other words, value the internal wins, the mindset wins where you are talking kindly and lovingly to yourself as you move imperfectly through life.

      • Never Accept Mediocrity

Where are you playing it safe?

Where are you not trying your best?

Where can you level up in your life?

Where can you choose growth and excellence over complacency?

In this episode, I share a piece of life advice I received from a former boss when I was an undergraduate student at UCLA. He simply said Never Accept Mediocrity. After years of changing jobs and moving countries, I learned that in order to become a better version of yourself, you must go beyond your ‘average’ to see what you are capable of.

If you seek greatness, aliveness, and growth in your life, you must step out of the comforts of what is known, and choose the harder path of challenge, leveling up, and skilling up in your life. It is when you choose excellence over the status quo that you begin to experience breakthroughs in life and work.

      • What is Life Teaching You?

In this episode, I share a few thoughts on how to reflect on life's lessons in the moment. You see, all that you experience, from amazing relationships to hardships, from slow days to hectic days, it is all teaching you something. Your role, in your life, is to see it, be present, observe, and ask What is this teaching me? What do I need to learn? Who must I grow into to go through this challenge?

I hope this episode inspires you and helps you see the beauty and also the struggle that life has to offer as you progress into this next chapter of life.

      • How to Find Your Purpose

What are you good at? What can you share with the world? What are your natural inclinations?

In this episode, I share my simple framework for finding one’s purpose through my life experiences.

To sum up, my one piece of advice is to find the threads in your life, the patterns, the moments that light you up.

When you are enjoying yourself, when you are in wonder and awe, when you are feeling good or positive vibes, these experiences, spaces, and life moments are direct clues to your purpose. Your purpose is not just what you do, but who you are and how you show up in the world. Purposeful people live with a sense of joy and curiosity.

So, what are the threads and patterns in your life?

      • The Purpose of Work Post-Pandemic

In this episode, I share my thoughts on the four main elements that will drive the purpose of work in a post-pandemic world. If you are a leader or business owner trying to retain talent, these are a few questions to consider in order to keep employees engaged, committed, and motivated to serve your organizations' mission and vision. Or if you are a high performing professional seeking clarity around your current career path, these questions will help you think and reflect on the purpose of work in your life.

        1. Does work satisfy an intrinsic motivation?

        2. Does work create an environment of belonging and community?

        3. Does work provide personal growth opportunities? (Not just growing professional skills, but developing a more holistic mindset around success, high performance, excellence, and congruence).

        4. Does work provide a path towards senior leadership? Does the leadership reflect the employees, is there a future for leadership positions?

      • The Power of Secret Identities

        THE POWER OF SECRET IDENTITIES

In this week’s episode, I interview Pete Mackintosh, a Profitability Coach for Female Entrepreneurs on the power of secret identities.

Pete shares the framework of Todd Herman’s The Alter Ego Effect, where the power of secret identities removes the need for discipline, because you just become the person you want to be gradually over time by acting as your secret identity. Think Clark Kent and Superman - changing in the telephone booth - and suddenly taking on this new superhero identity.

Pete also shares the importance of carving out time for self-reflection to start unpacking your dreams and desires. He also suggests getting around a community of like-minded people trying to achieve the same goal for motivation, accountability, and inspiration.

      • Discipline is a Decision

In this episode, I teach you about discipline. Discipline is what separates the dreamers from the doers. It is the essential ingredient to your success in health, in wealth, in business, in family. How consistent are you in choosing to do the hard work of success?

Two main takeaways: Decide to be disciplined; and Do the work required for success. There are no shortcuts to discipline. It is the simple choice of acting in alignment with the life and future you desire. It is doing the hard work of putting in the hours, the practice, the reps, the habits of success.
