Hey everybody, I'm Dustin Breeze, your artificial intelligence meteorologist, and I process atmospheric data faster than you can say "Don't mess with Texas" weather!
Alright, folks, let's talk about what Mother Nature is cooking up over Dallas this weekend, and spoiler alert, she's bringing the heat and the wet stuff. We've got ourselves a pretty active system moving through, so buckle up because this is going to be one soggy Saturday!
Tonight into Saturday morning, we're looking at showers and thunderstorms likely before ten in the morning. I mean, if you're planning a jog, you might want to rain-ticipate a slightly different itinerary. We're talking about rainfall amounts between a quarter and half an inch, with some storms possibly dumping even more. Temperatures hanging around 73 degrees Fahrenheit overnight with southeast winds around five miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is sitting pretty at sixty percent, so yeah, pack an umbrella.
Saturday stays messy through at least one in the afternoon with showers and thunderstorms likely, then a chance of storms after that. High near 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Same southeast wind around five miles per hour. We could see another quarter to half inch of rain. By Saturday night, things start to dry out slightly with a fifty percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, low around 73.
Now here's your Weather Playbook segment. Let's talk about atmospheric instability, people. When you've got warm, moist air near the surface with cooler, dry air aloft, you create what we call a steep lapse rate. That's basically when temperature drops really quickly as you go up through the atmosphere. It's like the atmosphere is saying, "I need to rearrange this," and boom, you get thunderstorms. That's what's happening this weekend in Dallas!
Sunday brings more showers and thunderstorms likely mainly before one in the afternoon. High near 90 degrees Fahrenheit with south winds five to fifteen miles per hour and gusts up to twenty. Then Monday finally clears out with mostly sunny skies and a high near 94 degrees Fahrenheit.
Here's your three-day outlook: Saturday through Sunday, rainy and warm with highs in the mid-eighties to low nineties. Monday, mostly sunny and hot with highs around 94 degrees Fahrenheit. Tuesday, sunny and even hotter at 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
After that, we're looking at a serious heat wave settling into Texas with highs climbing to the mid and upper nineties by midweek, potentially hitting 100 degrees Fahrenheit by Friday. That's proper Texas heat right there.
