How to Start Your Day with God
How you begin your morning shapes the rest of your day. For many of us, the alarm goes off, and the first thoughts that come to mind are stress, regret, or exhaustion. But the Bible offers us something better: a way to start each day with a fresh slate, filled with God’s mercy.
Lamentations 3:22–23 says: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
That means no matter how yesterday ended, today begins with new mercy. God offers a daily reset — forgiveness, compassion, and strength to face what’s ahead.
Think of it like a whiteboard wiped clean each morning. Yesterday’s failures don’t have to carry into today. Or like a heavy backpack of guilt lifted off your shoulders when the sun rises.
So how do you start your day with God? Begin with gratitude: thank Him for fresh mercy. Release yesterday: don’t carry old failures into a new day. Receive His promises by faith: even if you don’t feel forgiven, trust His Word. And extend mercy to others: treat them the way God treats you.
Every sunrise is an invitation from God to start fresh. His mercies are new, His love is unchanging, and His grace is enough for whatever today holds. That’s how to start your day with God.
