Welcome to the NT90 challenge, a 90 day reading challenge from Nappanee Missionary Church!
Today, we will be reading from three different books. Matthew chapter 1. Luke chapter 3. And John chapter 1. We will be reading from the New International Readers Version of the Bible, which is the translation of the Bible that we use in our K/1 and 2/3 classrooms.
These three chapters explore who Jesus was, where his family came from, and why he was so important to the people who were waiting for a Messiah. Today’s reading is a little bit longer than most of the other days, but hopefully you will see what these verses are trying to do: they are setting up for everyone who reads this — from the day it was written until today — WHO Jesus was. God’s Messiah, the Son of God, with a family that went back to King David and then to Adam!
As we read, take some time to pray and ask God to show you something new or remind you of something important you already know about. Ask God to speak to you through his Word!
