A transitional decade for horror, as the campy classic universal monsters gave way to more psychological and "serious" horror. Jerry and matt look at two classic movies from the decade that dabble in both worlds with Isle of the Dead (1945) and Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948).

Because of the true horror surrounding the subject, it must be dealt with carefully and respectfully to all who suffered at their hands. Jerry and Matt look at two very different films that use Nazi's as the center of evil, Apt Pupil (1998) and Overlord (2018).

Horror and comedy are often two side of the same coin, with situations so crazy or horrific, all you can do is laugh. History is littered with tons of bad movies trying to walk that delicate balance, but it also has given us some true gems. Jerry and Matt look at Night of the Creeps (1986) and One Cut of the Dead (2017).

These stylish Italian movies are distinguished by their unknown killers, brutal and bloody murders, prominent musical accompaniment, and a bright, primary color palette. These types of movies have been made by some of the most innovative directors of all time and their influences are seen throughout cinema. Jerry and Matt taking an appreciative look at this sub-genre through the lens of one of the greats, Dario Argento, and his films Deep Red (1975) and Opera (1987).

Horror has a great way of reminding us that if something seems too good to be true, it usually is. From the classic story The Monkey's Paw to modern films portraying evil Djinn's and mystical houses, we are reminded that everything has a price. Jerry and Matt look at Wishmaster (1997) and The Room (2019) and explore the consequences of choosing your wishes unwisely. 

In a world desperate for clicks and likes, the internet has opened the door for a new kind of horror. Allowing access to everything in our lives opens us up to dangers and threats previously unimagined. Jerry and Matt look at two movies based on searching for social media status at any cost, The Tragedy Girls (2017) and The Cleansing Hour (2019).

Does a crazy and over the top title make for a good horror movie? Is it a marketing ploy to grab your attention and make you watch something you would not otherwise? Horror has a long history of outlandish and sensationalist movie titles and Jerry and Matt look at two examples with Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama (1988) and Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death (1989). 

As Doctors strive for new and better technology, their research is prone to missteps along the way. Progress is full of failures and this week Jerry and Matt look at two delicious examples of Medical advancements that turn into Mayhem with Rabid (1977) and Re-Animator (1985).
